While in PE, students will participate in many different sport and fitness units. There are many activities including but not limited to, basketball, volleyball, flag football, badminton, soccer, and softball. We all know there are many benefits of exercise from preventing chronic health conditions to boosting confidence and self-esteem. Fitness is about improving endurance, flexibility, and strength. Being in good shape can give a person more energy, reduce anxiety and depression, and can help an individual manage stress. We are very proud of our physical education program.
PHILOSOPHY Quality instruction in physical education involves the "whole child" by providing psychomotor, cognitive, and affective benefits. Not only does it contribute to the overall goal of education, but also contributes to the development and continuation of fitness, motor skills, social skills, health, and brain development. Good fitness habits that are started at a young age can increase the possibility of carrying over into adulthood, improving overall health and quality of life.
